My dog loves these mini treats. He’s a small havanese and these are tiny and only 5 calories each. So I can indulge him often (probably too often!) and he doesn’t gain weight. What’s best is the packaging. I originally ordered these in the plastic container which I saved. Now I just order these refills and fill the original jar. No large plastic to add to the landfill. Just some outer wrapping which I do wish was more eco friendly but does keep the product super fresh and creates little waste. Very happy. Have reordered many times and will continue to do so.What's there to say? If I stopped buying these, there would be riots, rebellions and anarchy. My dogs love these. I love the bags since it eliminates the big plastic containers. Unfortunately still have the plastic bags, so I'm not sure I'm really saving the environment by avoiding the plastic jar. I just reuse one of the couple of plastic jars I kept for that purpose. Obviously great for your favorite treat jar. The main reason I like the bags is that I use a Vittles Vault container and throw all my bagged treats in there. It's space saving over the big jar. So that's a big plus for me.We got frustrated with “little” training treats. Our little puppy is now a 40 pound puppy! She needs to know she got a treat for a positive action when we’re working with her. These are the perfect size to train a larger dog with! …and our senior dog loves the taste of them!Mini-size Milk-Bones are small enough to give frequently for snacks and for training purposes. For example, I keep them in my pocket while walking on a lead. When I stop at the intersections, he sits and I give him a half mini for training. To make my dog comfortable when I’m gone, I leave minis in his crate — when he’s alone, he happily sneaks in there to eat them.WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT MILK-BONE MINI FLAVOR SNACKS?1) I like the ingredients and the nutritional break-down.2) I like that the snacks are dry, not mushy, so they’re better for my dog’s teeth.3) I think the mini size is better than the bigger bones for training, even for larger dogs.4) My Mini Flavor Snacks came in an air-tight plastic bottle rather than a cardboard box.5) I like that Milk-Bones are made in Buffalo, New York.WHAT ARE MILK-BONE MINI FLAVOR SNACKS?These 1-inch bone-shaped biscuits are beef, chicken and bacon flavored. They are made of wheat, barley, meat, ground bone, beef fat, poultry, bacon fat, malt, yeast, and vitamins, with a few preservatives. They have no milk, despite being called “milk bones.” Flavor Snacks contain 63.5% carbohydrates, 15% protein, 12% water, 5% fat, and 3.5% fiber. Fifteen percent protein is good, but you should also be feeding your dog a good food for his main meal (see my reviews on Purina Pro Plan).HOW ARE FLAVOR SNACKS DIFFERENT FROM REGULAR MILK-BONES?Regular flavored Milk-Bones have milk and do not have any poultry or bacon fat. I guess you could say they’re milk and beef flavored. Regular milk bones have the same 63.5% carbohydrates, 15% protein, 12% water, 5% fat, and 3.5% fiber as Flavor Snacks. Milk-Bone has other products, but I stay away from soft and chewy treats, gravy bones, and peanut flavored bones.RECOMMENDATIONS:I recommend these Milk-Bone Mini Flavor Snacks. My dog eats them enthusiastically and does not seem to tire of them after several years. I am convinced their ingredients are good and my dog tolerates them very well. They are useful for treats and training and they stay fresh and dry in their closed plastic bottle. Great for training too, I like to take a handful of these in my pocket when we go on walks. At first my smaller dog didn't like the reddish ones but now he's grown to like them.
