I have bought the chocolate chip and the maple syrup directly from the AboutTime website before purchasing the buttermilk flavor for the first time from Amazon. This has been recently within the last month. First things first upon opening I noticed a very large clump of the powder on top which I've never seen before in my previous purchases. I also noticed that they do not add the small square moisture packets in there to keep it from hardening. The smell! wow I have not smelled the oil like odor such as this batch before. Not even close. The after taste was something I never experienced before. Ever accidentally placed deodorant in your mouth before? That's exactly how this after taste was. I even tried using mouth wash but nothing was getting rid of this after taste. I truly believe that this is a bad batch of protein pancake mix and perhaps even toxic! I'm not sure where they are storing their food items. I should have listened to the recent reviews. I will never try to cut a corner and save a dollar again on food items. Quality is very much appreciated and this had none.I sent a message to the seller voicing my concerns and they responded within a few hours. They stated that the heat is causing the plastic to basically vaporize inside the container. They also said that their product is safe. They said that they would send me another container. I received my buttermilk pancake batter today (about a week) and it is exactly the same quality like the one I purchased from the AboutTime website. I had no clumps and had the little green humidity squares inside. Therefore I'm changing my rate from a neg 1 to a four...And I'm loving the pancakes. I add blueberries and strawberries and top with Reddi Whip.I ordered these in chocolate chip and they are delicious! They have enough chocolate chips to satisfy and are neither too sweet nor too bland. They cook up just like regular pancakes and one serving is filling. They had a decent amount of protein (21 grams) and a bit of fiber (6 grams), but they were a little high in the sugar (11 grams). I wish that they had been made with sugar-free chocolate chips instead of regular ones. The maple syrup flavor of these does not have any added sugar and this decreases the sugar to 8 (and the carbohydrates from 30 to 24) and the calories from 290 to 270. The maple flavor also has 27 grams of protein. Those stats look a lot better than this product, but chocolate chip is my favorite flavor. These are Gluten-free and are sweetened with stevia, which is great. They are easy to make; just add water and cook like regular pancakes or make waffles with them. About Time also gives good serving suggestions on their Instagram. About Time is one of the better products out there. These are a bit pricey as there are only 10 servings in a container, but I would highly recommend trying them.I've only used this a handful of times, and only when I know I won't hit my protein requirement that day.I crossfit 4 times a week, have a body fat % of 24 (work in progress) and I've 3 kids under 4yrs old... so for a busy mom trying to get fitter and strictly tracking macros this is a huge help.Only 4 stars because of the taste... let's just say I can only eat it with a side of fruit, usually raspberries and a ton of water. To me the pancakes taste dry and I'm not a syrup fan but it's gluten free and lower in sugar than the other flavors. In saying that it's a huge help and does what isn't meant to.. so I recommend it, just don't think it will feel like a cheat meal because it really doesn't.Also nice to be able to eat pancakes some mornings with my family, obviously I would never give my children these pancakes! As an amateur athlete who spends attention to nutrition, the pancake mix adds a welcome variety to my breakfast ritual, or as in-between snack when I'm looking for some additional protein. They freeze very well, or pack for on the road snacks. The amount of protein is among the highest in the pancake mix products, although I usually add an egg to the batter, to up the protein and fat count a little. The egg also adds to a bit more 'fluff' in the final pancake. In regards to flavors, they're all outstanding, although my personal preference would be "Maple Syrup"Overall, the macronutrients (Protein, Fat, Carbs), are where I'd like them to be: 21-27g of Protein (depending on flavor) and 24-31g of Carbohydrates (depending on flavor) per serving. With that comes the caveat, though; if you're looking to stay under a certain amount of carbs/day (i.e; Ketogenic diet) these pancakes won't do you much good. Otherwise, the almost 1:1 ratio of protein to carbs, is a good start. Within the carbohydrate content, 8g grams are shown to be from sugar - assumingly, from the Stevia addition to the mix.Overall, I'm happy with the mix and unless I burn the crap out of them (yep, it happens more than I care to admit), they are a slam dunk!As an amateur athlete who spends attention to nutrition, the pancake mix adds a welcome variety to my breakfast ritual, or as in-between snack when I'm looking for some additional protein.
