This easy-to-use imitation beef seems to swell to thousands of times its original size! A small amount goes a long way! The first time I used it, I used two full cups of the meat substitute, and then I spent the next two weeks trying to eat up the massive amount that was reconstituted. I recommend starting off with only 1/4 cup as that produces plenty for meals such as chili or spaghetti.The texture and flavor are good. It pretty much takes on the taste of whatever seasonings you use, alongside its mild beef flavor.Vegetarian meat substitutes are becoming increasingly expensive. While the initial price of this meat substitute seems high, it is a good value as it provides protein for many, many meals.
