These are a great post-workout protein bar and a good healthy substitute for anyone experiencing a candybar or chocolate craving. I used to buy these at Kroger by the handful, but they closed all of our local stores, taking with them things like these Luna bars for $1 each. I turned to Amazon to find these and was delighted to get them at $14 for a case of twelve bars. I was fine with that price and happy to have them back in the pantry. Now that it's time to reorder, they're $22? Nope. These are my favorite flavor of Luna bars, but I'm not paying $2 a bar. Current value for the money? It goes down to one star. I'm not desperate here so I'll just go with the salted caramel (my 2nd favorite flavor) which I can still get here on Amazon for a reasonable price for a case of 12. And if the price goes up on those too, well, I know where to find them locally them in a smaller box.I highly recommend these, but be aware of what you're spending on these. If the price goes down, I'll reorder in a hearbeat! I really, really like the convenience of Prime and the ability to order a case of these.I bought them for my daughter as she has weight gain issues. I tried one and I really couldn’t get past the first bit. It has that chalky texture that Cliff bars have that I can’t stand and other people enjoy. So do not be discouraged by me as my opinion is really a biased one."Nutrition" bars can be a dangerous category these days. With constant changes in ingredients, new chemical additives coming and going, and health fads putting pressure on everyone, finding a tasty yet relatively healthy bar is no easy feat. Pure health food (made fresh with few ingredients) is definitely an acquired taste in America. We are so inundated with additives that plain food stuffs are a tough sell. In the end, our only lasting guideline is "moderation". With this said, I allow myself snack bars like this two to three times a week. I treat them all like candy bars, but feel a little bit better about myself once I am done.Pros: This particular brand and flavor seems to be one of the more trustworthy Big Names. They are relatively small and easy on the tongue. They are pretty sweet, so any bigger and they might become cloying. They don't really taste like cookie dough, but I think we all take these descriptions with skepticism any more. The flavor is certainly akin to cookie dough at least.Cons: The Cookie dough part can feel a little dry to the tongue. This consistency problem is where many might be averse. I like to have these with a little milk on the side. The milk helps that moisture issue as well as the sweetness issue. It also helps slow down my consumption and enjoy the flavors along the way.Final thoughts: I enjoy "health" bars. I can eat them at work without worrying about refrigeration. They are conveniently sized. They are healthier than candy bars. Luna is definitely part of my rotation, and cookie dough makes that rotation more than the others. The regular Luna Bars are far tastier, but I do like the protein content in these. They don't taste that great, but they dont taste terrible. Definitely a good quick snack.I'm a big fan of Luna bars and eat one almost every day as a Source of extra protein. The flavors are great, and they don't spike my blood sugar like other good-tasting treats might do.This was a new flavor for me, and I like it but don't love it. It tastes good, but I prefer the lemon or chocolate cupcake. To me, those 2 flavors are just better, and while this flavor isn't bad, i don't think it tasted like cookie dough. I'd recommend the 2 other flavors mentioned above this one.I like the nutrition info on this brand. Yes, there are "protein bars" that taste better, but I was looking for something with less fat, more protein, fewer calories, etc. that tasted okay. I tried the chocolate mint and it was okay - met my needs. But, the salted caramel has a better taste. I refrigerated both, but discovered that the salted caramel was flaking chocolate and making a mess. So, I stopped refrigerating and the flakes were no longer a problem, plus the bar tasted better at room temperature. I'll continue to buy these to get my morning started since I can eat on the go. Less fuss than oatmeal, cereal, etc. These are nice. The nutritional information is pretty good when you start comparing all the popular protein bar brands. Maybe a little high in sugar but they check all the other boxes like less than 200 calories, no sugar alcohols, and fairly low fat in relationship to the protein content. The flavor is pretty good, it seems to be the most popular flavor in stores as they are always low in stock, but my favorite is the chocolate salted caramel ones and that's what I'll buy next time. These are the only reasonably good tasting proteins bars that I have found, and I have tried them all. To be clear there are Luna Protein bars and regular luna bars. I think the regular luna bars taste awful, like cardboard, with that weird artificial flavor- not good at all. But so far all the luna protein bars I have tried are awesome. Both the peanut butter chocolate and cookie dough are fantastic (I'm a chocolate person)- I can eat them at work and feel satisfied and full until my next meal. LOVE THEM! Just bought sea salt carmel and they were very good though I really like the other two flavors, particularly peanut butter chocolate. As I read in someone else's review I may not order them from amazon again, though, bc they did look like they had melted in transit and I do think the ones that haven't melted taste a little better (may just be a figment of my imagination- they look better when they haven't melted). But I HIGHLY recommend the luna peanut butter chocolate protein bar.
