These Sport or Loop reins are 10 feet long and made with 9/16" double braid polyester rope (aka yacht rope). They come with each end spliced (not melted) and a small leather popper. They are designed to attach to the bit with slobber straps (SLOBBER STRAPS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH YOUR PURCHASE). Sport reins are basicly a mecate without the lead. Using slobber straps helps relay the feel of the release of the rein. All of our products are hand tied and spliced in the USA by Big Sky Tack. We offer over 30 different color and color combinations to choose from. Double Braided Polyester rope has a Polyester core and a Polyester cover. This rope is the best quality equestrian rope on the market and is also made in the USA. Due to its strength, low stretch, excellent sunlight resistance, and excellent abrasion resistance properties, polyester is a preferred fiber for most natural horse trainers and clinicians like Parelli, Anderson & Cox. This rope is washable and strong yet has a great feel in your hand. It's not too soft and not too stiff. (The 10' is measured from each end of the rope, the popper is not included in the measurement.
