I am pretty impressed with the quality of the feed and the size is a perfect transition for juveniles birds from scratch to pellets. I was having a hard time with the adult pellets to the point where I would have to sit and break them apart but the size on these really hit the sweet spot for the transition and my chickens loved the quality. There is some powder residue that is pretty normal in a bag of pelleted feed. The size was sort of the only miss for me. I think the formula is 2 birds, 1 bag, 2 weeks ( but I’d say that’s a solid stretch and maybe 2 days max. It’s about a quart size bag and while the quality is amazing, this will likely be a every-so-often purchase for a treat to mix in with the standard feed. Price and size aside, you get what you pay for with the amazing quality.I have a VERY PICKY chicken who doesn't like what most chickens like. I liked the fact that it was almost a powder & thought it would make a difference with her since she doesn't like whole grains or even pellets. But it didn't. I've tried everything on the market including making my own food. And the only food she'll eat is if it's fermented & meal worms! She doesn't even like black soldier fly larve. So this may be a perfect food, I can't really say.I was excited about this feed and might buy it again as scratch, but it didn’t work for my girls as a complete feed. Their eggshells got thin and then they stopped laying altogether. I switched their food before I finished the bag and used up the rest as scratch, which they were on board with—they loved it and were very into the whole grain aspect, but it’s too expensive to buy this and have to supplement for mineralsOur one week old chicks love it. The one down side is that they aren't big enough to eat some of the larger pieces like the peas. Would be better if the peas were cracked a bit more. Regardless, the chicks eat it up and are growing well on it as is.I recently got chickens so that my family and I could have fresh eggs of our own, but it was very important to me to find a good quality feed. It turns out that even the popular organic non gmo chicken feed have corn and soy in them, so I searched for a better feed and finally found Mile Four. We just started using this feed, but knowing that the ingredients are high quality and free of corn and soy, I am positive we will soon see a difference in our chickens, as well as the eggs when those come. It gives me peace of mind to know we’re feeding the best to our chickens.Organic and whole grain! My chickens libe it! They are happy, healthy, and look beautiful!I have never seen a chicken feed look so raw, healthy, and natural for our birds. When you open the bag for the first time after buying feed from stores previously... it's a "WOAH" moment haha. My only note, if I absolutely had to have one, is that there are some bigger pieces in the whole grain starter that our chicks (1-3 weeks) are still eating around, so that may create some waste, etc. As they get bigger I know they'll chomp those pieces right up, of course, and I can't wait to try out the mash. Love the ingredients, storage bag (the texture/material is super nice; haven't seen another one like it), and company purpose.Great
