This is a great book. have made 4 different dishes so far. instuctions are easy to follow and no hard to find items to make themPages 8 to14 had been ripped out of the book.fabulous recipesI have both of Sally Butcher’s books and I really like her approach–she writes with humor and has a really chilled outlook on cooking (no need to panic if you run out of something!). I have a huge collection of Middle Eastern cookbooks, but hers are the only ones that cover such a broad array of regions and cultures. It has a nice balance of easy one-pot dinners, fancier fare, history and personal anecdotes. She's a Brit married to an Iranian, with whom she runs an import shop and deli, so she has a really useful knowledge of ingredients and substitution. And while some of the recipes definitely veer away from the traditional, I find them quite useful for sneaking Middle Eastern flavors into unexpected places!This is an identical book to 'Snackistan' by the same author, from a different publisher. Only the cover & title is different. You do get a dust jacket though, if this is important to you.
