Was looking for a protein to help with MPS (muscle protein synthesis) to help me recover quicker between workouts and reduce soreness. I was pleased with the quality of the tub I received. It was an authentic Optimum Nutrition 100% Casein. It had the gold neck band and on the bottom crease of U.S. made tubs of protein is a mold mark from plastic thermoforming. It looks the same on every tub and is normal. It had the date and batch codes of February 2024. It is a slow digesting protein used to support muscle recovery at times you go without food such as while you are asleep. I take it before bed by mixing with a little bit of almond milk and make it like a pudding.I love this especially when I bake. I substitute this for flour to help me lose my weight. I still use the flour but just depends I try to use at least 3/4cups to instead of 3 like if the recipe called for 3cops of flour I use 2 1/4cups and 3/4 cups of this.The only protein I can tolerate. Holds me the longest during the day. Easiest on my stomach. Not overly sweet but the chocolate is the best flavor. My go to for breakfast and lunch or just a pick me up before dinner.Keeps me full for 4-5 hours,tastes good. I add with almond milk, strawberries, pineapple and banana. Definitely buying again!This stuff mixes well with a shaker cup and 1% milk. Tastes fine. But I've been only trying to use a half a scoop and 4oz liquid as it makes me wake up every hour to pee. Maybe I should eat food with it? I'm sure it works great, but I don't know if I can effectively rest/recover if I'm up all night peeing..Best for night time doses.I have use ON products for years. I have had alot of success taking their casein protein at bedtime to support my muscles. I am not going to tell you the taste is great but it is ok and it does work.When I opened the container it smelled like opening a box of chocolate cake mix. My 14 year old Grandson really likes it!WHy the hell did they change the formula?? I have been buying CASEIN from ON for over 10 years and really loved it. It tasted great, mixed very well.The new formula is a very volatile powder and you prob need at least twice the amount of water compared to the previous version. It is way too thick and taste is just average.I will not comment on the nutrition and performance aspect as I still want to trust ON Casein will still deliver but what a disappointment!!! Quality is not just as bad as what you can find from much cheaper brand. What a shame.ON get your act together!!!!!This is widely different to many previous orders I have had, it has the new tub design and was confirmed as genuine by ON support. But it is absolutely inedible... it is INSANELY thick!! I have to mix almost 700ml of water with 1 scoop to get it anywhere near what others are like. It has zero taste (before it was like vanilla ice cream).I don’t know what has happened.. but I will not be ordering again. Honestly disgusting.Have used optimum nutrition casein for years and has been great. However, they have changed the recipe and I have to say the taste is horrid now. Really disappointed and won’t be buying again. Hope you change back to the old recipe ASAP!This used to be my go-to for Casein. Mixed really easily, tasted great. But with a recipe change, it has become a vile, unmixable, synthetic, horror. I can't recommend avoiding this enough.The new flavour is disgusting. The product is completely different to what it used to be. Used to buy this regularly, not any more. I contacted the producer directly to feedback and they didn’t care at all. Such a shame.
